Congratulations to Tim Leach!

Tim Leach, a C&D Production employee working in Magnolia Operations in northern Louisiana, has just
been named GOALIE OF THE MONTH.

The Goalie of the Month program is designed to recognize unconventional oilfield employees and contractors for taking proper and proactive steps to ensure everyone is operating in a healthy, safe, secure and environmentally friendly manner.

Here is what the HSE personnel had to say about Tim's work:

"Tim was out on a location that had recently been transferred to Shell from Encana, as part of the division of operatorship, prepping to set up the following months batch treating schedule.  Tim noticed the well had a backside injection pump running at the wellhead. Tim could have just walked away at this point, instead he noticed that the production casing appeared to have high pressure on it for injecting backside chemical. He called operations personnel and found out the well had a packer on it and the pump should not have been hooked up. Tim shut the pump off and locked out the supply gas going to the pump. Tim saved both possible pump damage and packer integrity from noticing the pump was pumping against a packer. Great job of investigating something that didn’t feel right to him."

This is exactly what we expect from our C&D Production employees, also.

Congratulations to RYAN SMITH!

Ryan Smith, a C&D Production employee working in Pinedale, WY, has just been named ONSHORE GOALIE OF THE MONTH.

The Goalie of the Month program is designed to recognize Upstream Americas Onshore Gas employees and contractors for taking proper and proactive steps to ensure everyone is operating in a healthy, safe, secure and environmentally friendly manner.

Here is what the HSE personnel had to say about Ryan's work:

A fire ring had been scheduled for replacement on a BTEX combustor. Prior to the work crew arriving on location a LOTO had been preformed standard to the expected job scope. Upon arrival the work crew began staging their equipment for the job. At that point Ryan noticed that the position of the boom required for the work would be over live equipment that had not been covered in the LOTO.

Ryan placed a phone call to the Job Coordinator requesting that additional isolations be put into place to ensure the safety of all involved. Ryan, even though the job had not been officially kicked off, stopped the job. He took into consideration the changes in circumstance from other routine jobs and took action.

A great example of leadership bringing forth Goal Zero.

Thank you Ryan for taking the time to do the Right Thing. It is this kind of attention to detail and vigilance that we strive to instill in our operations.

This is exactly what we expect from our C&D Production employees, also.

Congratulations to Stephen Ross!

Stephen Ross, a C&D Production employee working in Magnolia Operations in northern Louisiana, has just been named ONSHORE GOALIE OF THE MONTH.

Here is what the HSE personnel had to say about Stephen's work:

After reviewing an incident involving an Operator being injured using the wrong tool to operate a wheel valve handle, Stephen began to check if we were using wheel valve wrenches to operate valves. These valve wrenches are safer to use and it is easier to manipulate the valve handles.  Stephen did an inventory of the Operator’s tools and saw they did not have any valve wrenches.  Stephen brought this to the attention of the HSE Tech and located a vendor that carried the wrenches.

Once the new wrenches arrived Stephen followed up to ensure delivery of the wrenches to the Operators who needed them so they would have the right tool for the job.

Learning from Incidents is a valuable source of information in delivering Goal Zero.  When we are presented with an opportunity such as an Early Learning Bulletin from another Asset it is important to relate that particular incident to our site and test if that could happen to me.  This is a classic example of learning.

Due to Stephen’s diligence, a potential significant event to our operations was averted.  Thank you Stephen for doing the Right Thing.

This is EXACTLY what we are trying to accomplish from a behavior standpoint in our operations.

This is exactly what we expect from our C&D Production employees, also.

Drew Cortez recently performed a little customer service, above and beyond...

Drew was able to help a gentleman take care of a tire problem at a training facility, recently. Drew was able to get the gentleman's car drivable, directed him to nearest service station where he could get a more permanent solution to his problem so that the gentleman could arrive home safely.

Our customer recognized Drew for his showing of "true customer service, as well as concern for his safe trip home."

GREAT JOB Drew! It's great to see our C&D employees "walking the walk" regarding service and safety
